All settled in

Lance survived his first week with his new job! Right now his new job is pretty much school…he is in ‘class’ from 7-4. I asked him the other day if I needed to say, have a good day at work or at school, and he said it is definitely school. He has homework and he even has to study for tests! So he is in college all over again…except this time he has a wife and kid! J He usually stays late after ‘school’ so he can get some work done. Me and Ansley make it hard on him to study at home…we aren’t very quiet!

While Lance is in ‘school’ for the day, me and Ansley hang out. We are finally all settled in and have made our little duplex home. We joined some of the other women of Federated and had brunch one day. We are slowly making friends. A couple of duplexes down from us is a couple who have a 10 month old lil girl AND they actually happen to be from Murfreesboro! Another couple from Lance’s class has an adorable almost 4month old lil boy. Ansley just loves these “bay-bees”! Since we have been making friends, I have also found some great people to babysit Ansley! We are definaltly making the best of our move to Owatonna!

Today we visited one of the local churches. It was a llittle different than what we are used to. We probably won’t go back to that one, so we will try another next week. After church, we meet up with Lance’s classmates for a cookout at one of the 20+ parks in our little town. We had a great time and it was nice for me to meet everyone and of course Ansley loved being ‘side’ (her version of outside).

The weather here is crazy! One day last week the high was 61! Today was probably one of the nicer days we have had since we moved in. Usually it has been very overcast and rainy, no sun, but today the sun was actually out. It was nice! It is supposed to rain, but by the end of the week it is supposed to clear up and actually be in the high 70s to the high 80s! Waa-hoo! Now that is what I’m talking about an actually summer! J

I finally have a start date for my job. I have training July 11-13th in Minneapolis and then I will have orientation at the hospital….so hopefully mid July I’ll be working. Owatonna Hospital is really small, only about 30 something beds. There is only one respiratory therapist on a shift and they don’t even have a night shift! They don’t have a Critical Care Unit either so no ventilator patients.  They said that if a patient is bad enough then they will stabilize and ship them out to another facility. I’m excited for this job opportunity and the chance to expand my skills!

We ask that you please continue to pray for us and this new adventure! We love and miss everyone!!!

I'm still new to this blogging thing and I apologize for my spelling and grammar mistakes on my first post....I'll try and do better next time! :)

The big move up North....

As most of you know, we just made a BIG move to Owatonna, Minnesota, for those of you who don't know.......

After lots and lots and I mean LOTS of prayers and discussions, Lance decided to make a carer change. He has resigned from Enterprise and is now working for Federated Insurance, which is why the big move. Federated has a year long training program that happens to be in Owatonna, MN.

We left Sunday morning June 12th and after 2 fun filled days of driving through cornfield after cornfield we finally made it to our new home. Owatonna is a small town of about 25,000 people. Here is a link to Owatonna's website.... http://ci.owatonna.mn.us/ . The company Lance will be working for, Federated, is a big deal here. Everybody either works at Federated or wants to work for Federated. There are some pretty neat things around and we have done some sightseeing. One of the biggest things is the Cabela's Store. We have also found a small outlet mall close...yay! :)  Owatonna is about an hour away from Minneapolis, so for Father's Day we drove to the city and went to our first Twins baseball game....it was Ansley's first MLB game ever. We had a blast and Ansley did great, she even sat through the whole game!!!

One of the main reason I have decided to start this blog is so everyone can keep up with Miss Ansley. The worst part of this move is taking Ansley away from all our family and friends, but hopefully this blog and the use of Skype will help. Ansley is finally getting the hang of this Skype thing and is enjoying seeing everyone.

We are I think finally all settled into our new place. It took some creativeness because we moved from our 3bedroom/2 bath house into a 2bedroom/1 bath duplex with very small closets! We were very lucky and found a nice older couple to rent our house back in Clinton. I have also been offered a casual ( or PRN-as needed) position at the local hospital, Owatonna Hospital. I don't have a specific start date yet.

Now you know why we moved and a little about our new town! We ask for continued prayers during this exciting new adventure! We love you!
